JAMES | MATT CHANDLER
James had a unique earthly relationship with Jesus, but his letter clarifies what the Christian life should look like for us all. The Book of James is filled with practical wisdom for Christians, calling us to live out genuine faith through good works, but it is also rooted in rich theology.

In our own ability, we cannot stand in the face of adversity. Without faith we could never find the strength to trust God. We would never be able to see above the trials we meet and to keep our eyes focused on the King while counting our trials as joy. This is the essence of James. We don’t work to be saved; we work because we are saved. Faith apart from works can never be sustained.

DEFINED (GIRLS) | PRISCILLA SHIRER

When you introduce yourself to someone for the first time, you have an opportunity to define yourself. You disclose your name, profession, and interests. These factors help our culture define us, but are those answers enough? There are bigger questions our culture can’t answer: Who am I? Why do I matter? And before asking, who am I? You must first answer, who is God?

The Scripture teaches that we are all made in the image of God. We do not define ourselves—the Creator does. We were all created to be known and loved by God. Once the answers are clear, we can move forward and discover all God has called us to be.

EPHESIANS | TONY MERIDA

Although Ephesians is one of the New Testament's shortest books in terms of word count, it is perhaps the most applicable to today's culture. This epistle also provides Paul's most direct address about the life of a disciple of Jesus. Paul conveyed his pastoral heart for the Ephesian believers by focusing on who they were in Christ. Specifically he addressed issues related to their new life, the community of believers, the pursuits of unity and holiness, and life's challenges. Therefore, the Book of Ephesians and this study offer practical answers to contemporary believers' basic questions about the Christian life and our identity in Christ.

MOMENTS TIL MIDNIGHT | BRENT CROWE

All Christians are pilgrims on a journey making our way home to paradise. This 8-session Bible study will look at the life and leadership of the apostle Paul, glimpsing through his eyes the final twelve hours of his life. Students will retrospectively experience, through a progressive scope and sequence, some of the more important ideas and events of Paul’s life. They will be encouraged and equipped in their own spiritual formation to make the most of the time they’ve been given to influence others for the cause of Christ.
